This calculator evaluates the following Clinical Criteria:
- Red rash facial cheeks and nasal bridge
- Red, scaly rash on the face, scalp, ears, arms or chest, possible atrophic scarring
- Photosensitive rash
- Small ulcers on mucosal linings, nose or mouth
- Pain in the joints of the hands, arms, shoulders, hips, legs, feet or jaw, sometimes migratory, associated with heat, redness and swelling
- Pleurisy, pericarditis, possibly aseptic peritonitis
- Elevated protein and/or cellular casts in the urine: > .5 gm proteinuria / day or > 3+ protein on dip stick
- Seizures or psychosis
- Cytopenia, hemolytic anemia, WBC < 4000, plt < 100K, lymphs < 1500
- Immunologic Positive anti-DNA test, LE prep, anti-Sm, or false positive VRDL
- Antinuclear antibody (ANA) Positive in the absence of drugs know to induce ANA's
