Neurofibromatosis Type 1 Diagnostic Criteria

This calculator evaluates the following Clinical Criteria:
- Six or more cafe-au-lait macules > 5 mm in greatest diameter in prepubertal individuals or > 15 mm in greatest diameter after puberty
- Two or more neurofibromas of any type or one or more plexiform neurofibromas
- Freckling in the axilla or inguinal region
- Two or more Lisch nodules
- A distinct osseous lesion, such as sphenoid wing dysplasia or thinning of the cortex of the long bones (with or without pseudoarthrosis)
- A first-degree relative (parent, sibling, offspring) with NF1 by the above criteria
